Keltie is Two

Keltie is two years old today!  There was a party in the McDonald’s parking lot with her best friends.  Scrambled eggs & bacon were served. A fun time was had by all!

Holly was at the vet this week for her quarterly allergy shot and anal gland expression.  She considers all people standing behind counters as being treat dispensers now, regardless if it is Home Depot, PetCo, PetSmart or the vet’s front desk.  She scored at the vet’s office, not in quantity but in quality – liver snaps! 

 Walking the aisles at PetSmart, Holly did a sudden stop that had me stumped momentarily.  Then I followed the ‘look’ and watched her do a slow crawl towards the window case.  Sitting in the corner of the glass enclosure was a little white critter – mouse, rat or gerbil, I’m not sure and I didn’t try to find out.  Holly tenderly approached the case and placed her nose near the window staring down on the little guy.  I watched for a few moments and then saw her tail start to slowly wag back and forth.  I could almost hear her saying  ‘can I keep him’!    “No, rats Holly!  You have Gracie”  It took a few jerks of the collar but she did turn away from the window and get back on track with healing along side me throughout the store.   I wondered how many parents had wished they could have done the same with their child.
