We had an early Thanksgiving celebration combined with one belated birthday (Rainie) and one early birthday party (Holly). Efficiency is one of our strengths! Anytime Lana joins us for an evening there is fun, food and laughs. Our favorite Chinese restaurant was closed so we had to step outside the box and try somewhere different. Asian Kitchen was our next choice and none of us were disappointed. The dogs were gifted with a nice variety of birthday treats (thank you Lana!). Holly had the bonus of getting 2 new balls which put her over the moon into the heaven of another heaven. It is good there were two balls in the pack, one for Holly and one for anyone else that wished to hold a ball in their mouth. Though we did catch Holly hogging both balls, stacking them on top of each other and wrapping her paws around them securely. Too much of a good thing is hard to handle at times.
This 3 year birthday has become a big deal! Even DeeAnn has gotten into giving Holly early birthday gifts. The Chewy box was delivered and it was DeeAnn shouting with glee, calling for Holly right away so she could get ‘one’ of her birthday presents. I was shushed away so I couldn’t see what was in the box. Holly then came around the corner with a stuffed baseball glove and ball (that detaches). Holly has had one or the other, or both, in her mouth ever since. The biggest miracle is that she has not destuffed either one yet. She is treating them like gold, not wanting to ruin what has given her such a special feeling. Maybe more people should make a note on that idea.
The days are getting colder. My limits of outside frisbee time is getting shorter. But for Hollly, Keltie and Rainie – I endure. That roughly twenty minutes of gleeful activity is all it takes to make the day great and get them through the evening content and settled. They are my role models for my work-out routine! I can only wish I could feel it the way they do!
