Noone is complaining about our Fall weather and everyone seems to be talking instead about how fast the non-winter months have gone by. Me included. It’s been busy. Busy with weatherizing homes and cabin, busy with planned trips. My girls group, the Sven Saw Sisters, had a week-end get away – a mystery trip for Georgette our latest 70 year old. Our trip to Lindstrom MN/Osceola WI went like clockwork, even the weather cooperated.
Pet-sitter Jessie managed just fine with all my girls. I had one text that summed up my family in one sentence. I had asked her how things were going and I heard back – “Helen is needy, Holly is rammy and Gracie likes me when I feed her.” It took my girls less than two days to leave their true impressions upon Jessie, and for her to understand the dynamics in my home. There was no need for me to worry, Jess understood the lay out of the land and had her thumb on the pulse!
Hollly has started a new round of Rally classes. The first night of class she was excited and actually performed quite well. She did the jumps without me having to do cartwheels and did her ‘go around’ and ‘spin’ without a correction. When on the sidelines, Holly was mesmerized by a small papillon sitting a few feet down from us. Holly stared at the little dog when sitting down, laying down and standing up. She stretched her neck to entice a glance her way. She woofed in a sweet tone trying to serenade attention. The little dog gave only side-eyed glances leaving Holly with a lesson in rejection – a foreign concept to her. It’ll be a new day this week. Maybe Holly will have a breakthrough moment with her perceived new friend.
Impressions matter!
