Do we become friends then develop traditions, or does having traditions establish friendships?   Makes no difference to the Sven Saw Sisters, we’ve done both!  We actually agree, thanks to stored photos on our phones, that our Michigan trip tradition is four years old this year.  Raine, Keltie and Holly have not missed a one, and it appears the experience is burned in their heart and souls as much as ours – once the car door opens they are out the door, around the cabin and straight down to the beach.  All smiles with tails wagging.   Running the beach is their favorite event but come nightfall all of them sink into a cushion, rug or perhaps a corner of a sleeping bag and drift into a deep, content sleep embracing and  loving every wink of shut-eye.  At that moment,  the whole trip becomes the best experience in the world with the best friends one could ever wish to have.

Helen does not join us in Michigan, her obsession with water would make for a constant state of alert for me.  In exchange, Helen gets her own vacation with Lana & Kooper.   I swear Helen’s tail grows an inch after seeing Lana.  It doesn’t stop moving!  When we got back home, Helen was full of smiles and not distressed at all.  It was apparent she had as wonderful vacation as we did!   Thank you, Lana & Kooper!

Fall is definitely here now.  The leaves are full of color, both in Duluth and all along the way traveling to Michigan.  The color background brings a glowful glisten to Holly and Helen’s fur, making photo ops impossible to stop doing!   The glow is on their fur only, they get a little grumpy about holding a ‘stay’ position while I play around with angles and filters.  It’s tough being the center of attention!
